The DMK Difference

DMK is the paramedical skincare line founded by Dr. Danne Montague King, and our flagship skincare line we carry at AURUM. In the 1970s when Danne first began studying the skin, he had no idea his philosophies would grow to a global empire spanning 30 countries with thousands of clinics and customers.

DMK treatments differ from cosmetic-style treatments because cosmetic treatments work topically on the surface of the skin, whereas DMK treatments address skin conditions on an internal cellular level to improve skin functionality. DMK's method focuses on improving the appearance, performance, and function of the skin, using the purest, pharmaceutical-grade botanical ingredients that the skin can recognize and receive. The fundamental goal is to return the skin to homeostasis.

Why DMK?

DMK takes cosmetic science from lab to clinic. The revolutionary DMK concept of Remove, Rebuild, Protect, and Maintain aims to match an individual’s biochemistry with the appropriate skin therapy.

DMK believes that the origin of any skin condition is a result of disharmony in the function of skin. By matching product formulations with ingredients the body can recognize, the skin is in induced to respond in a positive manner.

Simply, the DMK concept is about restoring balance and enhancing skin to function optimally once more.

Remove: The beauty industry has long focused on dead skin cell removal to reinvigorate the skin. It is scientifically inaccurate to view the skin as a single-layer that can be peeled off. Typical removal methods do not consider the new, vulnerable skin cells that become exposed after exfoliation. For long-term functionality and vitality, the next steps are crucial.

Rebuild: After removal, its imperative to provide the remaining skin cells with a healthy environment to thrive in. We want to restore both structural integrity and functional integrity. Most skincare treatments available today do not consider the structure or function of the skin. In fact, most popular treatments destroy or greatly impair the structure and function.

Protect: The skin requires protection from environmental damage. Potential environmental detriments include: Reactive Oxidative Species (ROS), UVR Ultraviolet Rays (UVA, UVB, UVC), Ionizing Radiation such as x-rays and gamma rays from the sun.

Maintain: Out of the four steps, this may be the most important. Clients who receive Skin Revision treatments but do not follow through with proper home prescriptives use at home will not see sustainable results. Clients must view their home prescriptives as a lifestyle change to maintain healthy skin.
